Catchments vs points
The Web Service provides data at a catchment or point scale. Once a catchment or a point has been purchased, it remains associated with your account granting you perpetual access to the data. Since the dataset is smaller, point data costs less than catchment data.
Catchment data
Catchment descriptors
- Area
- ALTBAR, ASPBAR and ASPVAR
- BFIHOST and BFIHOST19
- Centroid Easting / Northing
- DPLBAR and DPSBAR
- FARL, FPEXT, FPDBAR and FPLOC
- LDP
- PROPWET
- RMED1H, RMED1D and RMED2D
- SAAR6190 and SAAR4170
- SPRHOST
- URBCONC1990, URBEXT1990, URBLOC1990, URBCONC2000, URBEXT2000 and URBLOC2000
Catchment rainfall rarity/depth data
- rainfall depth-duration-frequency (DDF) calculations using the FEH22 or FEH13 rainfall models (also available for the legacy FEH99 model)
- interactive rainfall growth curve graphs
- export of FEH22 or FEH13 DDF matrix of depths for standard return periods and durations in CSV format (also available for the FEH99 model)
- legacy FEH99 model parameters: C, D1, D2, D3, E, and F (both for the catchment as a whole and the 1km gridpost nearest to the catchment outlet)
Catchment data formats
Catchment descriptor and rainfall data can be exported in .XML, .CSV and legacy .CD3 formats:
- The descriptor XML format includes a full set of catchment descriptors and FEH22 and FEH13 rainfall for use in tools such as ReFH2 (v3.3+) and WINFAP 5+.
- The legacy descriptor CSV, CD3 and legacy XML formats are for legacy applications and do not contain a complete set of descriptors and rainfall data.
- You can also export FEH22 or FEH13 DDF values in CSV format (also available for the FEH99 model) from the rainfall modelling screen.
Catchment Boundary
A high-resolution catchment boundary can be exported in ESRI shapefile format.
Point data
Point descriptors

Point data formats
Point descriptor and rainfall data can be exported in XML format:
